About Me
Hello, I’m Justine, the artist and maker behind Jagos Art and its newest branch, Felted Woolly Delights. I’m so glad you’re here.
Jagos Art began in 2019, when I took a leap of faith and left my role as a Teaching Assistant to pursue a more flexible creative career — one that allowed me to be there for my daughter while following my love of art.
I began by creating pet portraits in watercolour, charcoal and coloured pencil, alongside wildlife paintings and artwork inspired by the world around me. Over time, my work grew to include digital art, prints and handmade gifts featuring my original designs.
Like all living things, creativity grows and changes. My own creative journey has recently taken a wonderfully woolly turn with the discovery of needle felting.
That discovery led to Felted Woolly Delights, a new branch of the Jagos Art tree and the home of my original needle-felted pictures, wool sculptures, whimsical characters and handmade creations.
Needle felting has given me an entirely different way to work. It is slower, more tactile and shaped by patience, imagination and wool. It has also encouraged me to let go of some of my perfectionist tendencies and allow each creation to develop its own individual personality.
Today, Jagos Art brings together selected animal artwork, prints and handmade gifts, while Felted Woolly Delights represents the exciting new direction in which my creativity is growing.
I also share my creative journey through my From the Studio blog and on my Felted Woolly Delights YouTube channel, documenting new experiments, finished pieces and the honest ups and downs of building a small creative business.
Thank you for visiting and for following along as this new branch continues to grow.
